Location: UK-wide, predominantly Midlands. This is a permanent, full-time role, with an immediate start date. Working with our experienced site teams in the quarrying and mining environment throughout England (predominantly the Midlands area), you will be erecting steelwork, conveyors and mechanical installations of screens, crushers and the like. Projects include small works, up to full large-scale projects from initiation to commissioning, performance testing and client sign off. Structural steel/materials handling experience is preferable. The role involves working to the highest levels of H&S at all times. IPAF, CPCS Slinger, CPCS Telehandler, SPA quarry passport is preferred, but not essential. Location: Newton Abbot, Devon We are offering an apprenticeship role within our drawing office, where we design a wide range of materials handling systems for use in the quarrying, bulk handling and recycling industries. The successful candidate will be trained to use Tekla, our design software, to the point where they can independently design structures and equipment. You will learn how to use and communicate technical information; draft/design stairs, hand railings, hoppers, conveyors and buildings; produce mechanical engineering drawings using Tekla – fabrication and assembly drawings; and issue materials and bought-out parts to procurement. The role will also include site surveying, meetings with clients, and any other various skills and duties. You will need to be computer literate, have a positive attitude, punctuality and good communication skills; and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills are also important. We are looking for someone with a technical aptitude who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills, and who has a good work ethic and determination. After the apprenticeship term has been completed successfully, you can expect to be taken on as a full-time qualified Draughtsperson, subject to review by ourselves and Exeter College.
