Erection of the sports hall in progress

Over 85 tons of structural steel frame for the Richard Huish Sports Hall, Taunton is now complete with the project successfully handed over to the client.

Centristic have detailed, drawn, fabricated, painted all parts of the sports hall frame, and then had a technically challenging installation due to the confines of existing buildings & close proximity to the boundary hedge.

Several flatbed deliveries were required due to the tight access available, with the 13 metre long columns and 24 metre span roof trusses being delivered via articulated lorries. These loads where then offloaded using a crane and all loads had to pass over an existing building requiring comprehensive radio communication and safe lifting practices.
