New Feature Stair Cases for Plymouth Science Park
In April 2016 Centristic were awarded the secondary steelwork package by BAM Construction for the Plymouth Science Park Phase 5 new development.
Various secondary steelwork were with the scope of works, with the most notable being the two internal feature staircases with glazed balustrading.
Centristic worked closely with BAM, the architect and engineers to develop the concept through design and into fabrication whilst also ensuring that all relevant Standards & CE marking requirements were satisfied.
The feature staircases command impressive views both from above and below, with a high level of attention to detail to ensure there are no visible bolt fixings or connections and exposed treads from underneath.
Both fabrication and installation created their own challenges to overcome, but the end result has been a fantastic project that looks great.
Other items fabricated & installed were:
2 storey galvanized fire escape staircases to each end of the main building,
Internal galvanized plant room access staircase,
Various CAT ladders, balustrades & secondary steelwork.
The building was completed in December 2016 and has now been handed over to the client.
