Centristic’s James Smith to compete in upcoming Mongol Rally
Starting on July the 19th Centristic’ s very own James Smith will be taking part in the epic Mongol Rally in order to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, along with two of his friends, Richard Matthews and Mitchel Hockin.
James has worked at the Centristic for over a year and is a valued member of the construction division, quickly getting to grips with how the company operates and has proven himself to be committed member of the work force.
The group decided to take part in the grueling rally and start raising money for the teenage cancer trust after one of their team mates, Mitchel Hockin was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in 2013. Fortunately Mitchel was rapidly admitted to hospital where his thyroid gland was removed and he is currently in remission.
The rally is a 7 week driven endurance adventure challenge, where the sole goal of the rally is to reach your destination in one piece. The destination for this rally is in Ulan Ude, Siberia and the competitors will be travelling through 10,000 miles of varying and challenging terrain to get there. To see the planned route click here
To increase the difficulty of the challenge the competitors are required to drive the worst car they can find, with the rules stating the car has to be at least 10 years old and cannot have a larger engine than 1.2 litres.
The car James Smith and his team have chosen is a £270 Nissan Micra and can be seen in the pictures below.
Centristic have helped the team with preparation of their vehicle and wish them all the best of luck in the following weeks.
