As part of a major new storm water tunnel, designed to greatly reduce the volume of untreated storm water from entering the river Thames, Centristic supplied and installed a 100m field conveyor, 5m transfer tower, 230m field conveyor (installed along the length of an existing pier) and a 9m long radial conveyor for the transfer of tunnelled material from the cutting face, to barges that would take the spoil to a load out area. Working closely with Burrows and MVB (Main Contrator), Centristic successfully designed, fabricated and installed the conveyor system. This project was tricky as there were strict loading limits for the pier, barge cranes had to be used and tide and weather conditions dictated working patterns.
